WOLVES AT NIGHT
Review
by Tamera Lawrence
When Eleni decides to meet up with her old lover in a secret
reunion, she has no idea what’s in store. She hadn’t seen Ben in years. He has
never met his son. Their time together holds a special place in her heart, but there
had been a horrible infraction, keeping them apart. Ben had been accused of a
horrific murder. A young, beautiful woman had been tortured to death. Eleni
knows her Ben would never commit such a horrible crime. Sure he was bit
protective, controlling- but that was because of his love for her. If only the
truth would come out and Ben could stop running. They could be a family.
With her heart dictating her common sense, Eleni drags her
young son into a cold, dark nightmare as she leaves the safety of normal
society to meet Ben and opts for a cabin in the Alaskan wilds to the very cabin
in which Jacob was conceived. Danger lurks all around. Wolves and the elements
are just two of her horrors, as her situation only escalates when visitors
arrive.
It is rare these days that a book can keep me moving through
the chapters, but WOLVES AT NIGHT by Sarah McDermott Jain did exactly that.
This story pulls you in even as your hating the dread in your soul. Eleni’s
character is full of surprising as her survival mode kicks in.
I highly recommend this awesome read and look forward to
reading more books by this talented author.
